Re: Extending my reach
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
Re: Extending my reach
actually I don;t think you lose any light with an add on lens that goes in front of the front element. I think you only have to subtract light when the add on goes between the lens and the camera. I'm considering 2x to go with my bbc as I see on Dyxum there one that fits and isn't too expensive. Might save me from buying the mirror lens or something else in the future.

. I guess you lose a stop or two of light?
Re: Extending my reach
Thanks Guys, for the welcome
I don't have a 62-58 converter ring yet so cannot really try the combo I mentioned properly. I did try holding the close up lens against the filter (not the front element!!!) of the G today. It didn't work very well! The focus range is very small althugh the image is certainly much bigger than the G without it, and it's hard to hand hold the set up. I'll try it properly when I can find a ring and report.

Re: Extending my reach
Yes, that's the one. It works pretty well with the Sigma 70-300, but I am not sure, based on my tests today, whether it will be useful with the 70-300G.Birma wrote:Tom, is this the close up lens you're referring to?

I didn't know it was still available new, and had a long hunt on ebay for one for my Sigma.
