Actually, my 2002 Minolta D7i had the largest sensor (2/3"). All of the sensors since then have been smaller. The current Fuji X10 and X20 also have a 2/3" sensor.

This was actually my favourite shot of the fireworks - still ISO 100, f2, 1/2sec. And a bit sharper.

Sury, if you're referring to that last fireworks image, it was my Epson 850Z. Umm, I guess it must be a feature of the browser I use most of the time, Opera, but right-clicking on an image gives a drop-down box one item of which is "image properties". Selecting that give the Exif info!

The Epson 850Z was a 1999 2.1mp digicam with a 35-105mm lens. In January 2000 I bought my wife a 1999 Olympus D-340R 1.3mp with 36mm lens. She mostly used it for snapshots and although I tried to keep the camera set for maximum size and quality she would often change it to 640x480 pixel mode with more jpeg compression so she could get more photos on the 8mb SmartMedia card. Mostly that was okay, but there are a few photos she took of friends, etc. that I wish were the maximum size. I occasionally played with it and took a few photos. Here are a couple of photos I took with it the morning after a Texas ice storm in 2000:

Pretty good fireworks Tony, I tried to take some a year or so ago and sortof did ok but I couldn't get any blue ones properly they all came out white-ish, the green and reds weren't too bad though for some reason. You actually got some blue in yours, well done.

Henry you can't get that much detail from such a tiny MP sensor, everyone knows that. Great demonstration of what's actually possible though.

A few days ago we were driving on a highway in Texas and a thunderstorm started rolling in. We stopped and I took a few photos of the awesome clouds with the Canon S95 before the rain started. Of course, I wish there was a better foreground, but sometimes you have to take what you get.

I really like the Motel 6 sign in the foreground - there are some people who seem to make a living out of photographing those things so some people might think that foreground is fine Henry

Henry, the splash of colour in the 1st one really makes it. The clouds in all 3 are also pretty d*mn good!

Yeah, a guy who had pulled off the highway and was standing near me also wondered about whether a tornado might develop. It had crossed my mind too. Fortunately, it was just rain and it didn't even last all that long. Here is one more photo pointing in a different direction.
