For me, the second shot represent more dynamic scene on capturing picture, but it's only my opinion. Don't take it seriously!

Another Woodpecker Valery? a nice shot, and the Pelicans are very classy too.
I like the first one Sury, the Gull looks all screwed up in the second one and the ducks are better in the first one too I think, but only my opinion of course.

Valery and Greg, thank you. You have given me couple of points to think about
on those two shots based on your own perspective. They both point to the surroundings
as well as the focal point. That is certainly one thing I don't (often) keep in mind when
composing. Perhaps, in addition, it could be my post processing as well. The originals
had more of an action that I lost while focusing on the bird in flight. Like I said, I am
learning to "rethink" how I compose, hopefully for better, hence my queries.

Geese of some variety I presume Sury, it looks like the one at the bottom just made it into the frame, a late arrival? Interesting and different composition though.

I’ve got a couple of photos somewhere of a Black Swan at the zoo here getting bossy with a bunch of Magpie Geese, I lost all my tags after I installed E11.
Maybe it’s just the Black Swans that get their knickers in a knot?

I think the new processing works a great deal better. : ) Warmer colours.

The birds in the ponds look neat everyone.

Some close encounters too.

I've been away a few weeks and what happens? The whole thread has been flooded with some great, great images of our avian friends in this world. Great job everyone!

The past couple of weeks I've shot a large amount of bird images and will be posting some of those here, so expect a lot of images from me the coming days.

Here are a few from more than 3 weeks ago, when I went to a nearby small lake for almost a whole day.
