Thanks, Sury. My recollection is that he had his head down and was drinking. I took a shot with my Minolta 7xi and although the camera is not all that loud the giraffe heard it and suddenly jerked his head up. I fired off a second shot (the one posted here) just at that moment with the water still streaming from his mouth.

Henry I think I’ve seen that giraffe shot of yours before, possibly five years ago, maybe more, not that I mind seeing it again of course, it’s a good one.
I don’t think I’ve seen the elephant shot with the viagra trunk before though, it looks like it is engaging 4x4 right at that moment, a bit of a boggy spot there maybe.

That is certainly possible. Over the years on this forum and all my shots on my website I may have posted that photo sometime in the past. Hard to remember when we are talking about years and also the number of shots I have posted during that time. I guess I have probably posted hundreds.

It is certainly embarrassing to have a trunk stiffy when there is nothing to do with it. An awkward situation. This photo is B&W, but if you saw the color then you would notice the blushing.

Those are some fearsome looking horns, Henry! Luckily the two subjects seem quite docile. Cattle often tend to be inquisitive. I have been engrossed in taking a picture in a field and turned around to find a whole herd standing behind me.

Henry, I hope we did not "lose" anything in the translation of them long horns.
I mean conversion from color to black and white.
