Interesting looking birds Sury, I wonder what they are? I especially like the second shot with the flock in context of the landscape

Great shot Sury, good to see some flocks of shorebirds surviving the onslaught of civilization, they could be a Sandpiper of some kind, maybe the Willet; I’m not familiar with the American names. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willet

Nice shots Sury! We don't have the pelicans yet, but the hawks and the geese already here.

Valery, thank you. I think it is 80% 70-400 lens and 20% me not withstanding the
adage, camera (or lens) is just a tool. I will try the same technique with my Sigma
200-500 and see how well I do before changing my view on camera/lens being a mere
tool.

Folks here are sensitive, honest and take time to provide their input not to mention
an occasional ribbing (I get about my sensors).

It's been a while since I visited PCA and my what have I missed a lot of great birdshots! Seriously great images!
Shot these of a Chrested Grebe a few weeks ago. He was a bit of a show-off when I was observing him. Great moment! All shot with the a580 + 70-400G1 on a monopod.
