Back to the Isle of Skye through the post processing back log. I really like the waves in this one. The wind and tides were just right for about 5 minutes to blow off the tops of some of the larger waves. Tilly and I had much discussion while sitting on the rocks at the end of the beach about how and why the waves with white tops were called 'white horses'.
I had previously visited this beach (of the single malt whisky fame ) a few days earlier to see the sunset. This time we were just on a family walk and I was using the Nex 6, with the awesome e-mount Sigma 30/2.8 (what a super lens at a bargain price!). Next visit, when it is just me, I will be definitely taking pictures from this end of the beach.
I've been missing couple of shots, but I have to give it to Birma once again. Very interesting scenery and defineatly a worthwhile to go back with more serious tools.

A clear and sunny morning was forecast on Saturday and so I started my annual pilgrimage to my favourite wild flower meadow. I was treated to a beautiful sunrise and the meadow was filled with flowers, in particular Green-winged Orchids, Bluebells, Cowslip and Dandelions (mostly their seed heads). There are a couple of lovely old oak trees standing in the meadow and this was both the subject and also a sun filter for this shot. This meadow is, for me, a little sliver of paradise, placed in the middle of rural Worcestershire. The fields around it have no-where near the diversity of plants due to the use of chemicals as part of modern farming methods. To think that this is what all of our meadows would have looked like once upon a time, but I suppose we all need to eat and so the changes have been necessary, if a pity artistically .

Another sunny morning for today's public holiday and so another wood visit. Bluebells again. They are going to be over soon, so it was a matter of get 'em while they're here. It was a challenge dragging myself out of bed and I was a bit rushed as the sun was just up as I arrived at the planned spot.
