With the recent D-Day 70th anniversary, and the upcoming 100th anniversary of the start of WWI, I thought this shot might fit quite well with some suitable white text on the right hand side of the frame. Still trying to think of a suitable line of verse.

Here's one of our silk poppies (opium poppies) from Shirley - using the Sigma 105mm OS macro. We have been doing tests and it's pretty conclusive that despite this having OS, it's inferior to using the SSS on the A580 - SSS has a near 100% success rate but OS does not. The lens is good but I'd rate it not as sharp as the non-OS earlier Sigma macros, or the 70mm which I use. It is probably better for portraits.

Interesting feedback on the Siggy 105 as well. I went for the Tamron 90, but stabilisation wasn't a concern for me as I'm always on tripod.
