The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a great place to visit in Cornwall as they have something to suit all tastes; from formal gardens to managed woodland, and wilderness. In the woodland they have a series of fabulous sculptures. This one is my favourite, called the Mud Maid. I shared a picture of her after my visit last year, and on our visit to Cornwall this year I was determined to get an improved shot.
This is a great looking sculpture and fits very nicely there in the forest. Usually when you see something man made in the forest, it doesn't belong there even if it's for art and decoration. This one fits so great and feels like something eternal before man, makes and smile. Very nice picture and, in my eyes, fits very nicely together with your other meadow pictures.
That is cool! The wonderful greens of the sleeping giant are great. Is that a stone sculpture?
Back in 2002 while on a hiking trail in British Columbia I spied the following off the trail. Almost didn't even see it since it was behind other trees. I assume someone had just taken it upon themselves to do a bit of carving. Taken with my Minolta D7i. Your photo reminded me of this.
