Your stats look a bit out of date as someone born in 1980 could be a parent by now

I don't think this trend is just in Japan. I'm 6' 2" but don't feel tall compared to many of the graduates we have at our company. They are definitely stretching them!

That chart is for 20-years olds, but I couldn't find one that went up to 1994 for the birth year. Probably not so big a change though since the Japanese diet probably didn't change all that much since 1980 with regards to getting more protein, etc.

Here is a freight truck in Sapporo. You see these sort of trucks that open from the side pretty often in Japan. I think I have never seen one in the States though. I like camera bags and travel backpacks that allow one to open them and have complete access to the contents, just like these trucks.

That makes a lot more sense for inloading and finding what you want.

Yes, that is why they have these sorts of trucks. On this particular street it wasn't crowded, but in many places it is, especially in Tokyo. I just thought others might be interested in seeing this sort of truck. Have you seen this type elsewhere?

Ps. I suppose the increasing height can be explained by developed nutrition. After WWII the Japan started from year zero, so there has been a lot of absolute development in nutrition since then. Just guessing..
