Not sure. I think this is British. Found it in a Colombian village.
Various Russian Jeeps like GAZ and this UAZ and especially the Romanian Aro Carpati have been the public transportation that takes people up the steep slopes to the "invasions" in the hills above Cali. The motors were usually swapped out for a diesel and the front driving axels removed.
And here's an old Aro Carpati (customized? ha ha) still at work. They are beloved in the Colombian countryside.
Neither Russian nor Romanian jeeps are available anymore and are being replaced by Chinese Beijing Jeeps. They already come with a strong diesel.
And now up to the present here is my 2015 Renault Duster 4x4. It is actually a design by Romanian Dacia teamed with Renault using a Nissan 4x4 system. They are shipped from a huge plant in Romania as kits to about seven assembly plants around the world including the Renault Sofasa plant near Medellin, Colombia where mine was made (the same one that produced the Renault 4 back when).
The images in Cars of Cali #1-5 were taken with various cameras not including the Sony a6000.

That last one (Duster) is sold in India too. My brother has
one. I did not realize it was a Romanian design with Japanese
underframe and French label (and rest of the stuff).
Fabulous series Pitter. Great to read the history of cars in Cali. Not surprised that the Renault 4s did well. They were called Mountan Goats by Welsh hill farmers.

Thank you both. Actually most of the photos are snapshots that aren't so hot but do record some of the oddball assortment I've come across. I am also a "car guy" so try to grab a photo when I see something weird. When I first arrived ten years ago there were still a lot of fifties era big trucks on the road like two ton Desoto's, Mercurys and Fargo pickups. I believe they were Canadian versions of Dodge and Ford. As I mentioned above there were a lot of imports from behind the Iron Curtain. These came with no local dealer support so most died from lack of spares. The last "fleeting" import I saw was an Indian Tata four door 4x4 pickup sold by Hyundai dealers. Lasted just three years and was gone. Mahindra is now in Cali selling pickups and SUVs. They have their own dealerships so will probably last. Colombia likes to copy everything the US does so there are new strict mechanical inspections in place. As a result a lot of the really interesting oddball oldies have been taken off the road.
Interesting. Mahindra seems to be making some inroad in Latin and South America.
Nicaragua also has Mahindra trucks and SUVs, I am told by the guide. What was
surprising is this ubiquitous mode of transportation in India (called autorikshaw) and
tuk-tuk in Thailand seen in Nicaragua. Made by another industrial scion Bajaj.
