Lovely close-up Sury - with the sensor dust, and pollen!

The Hefay - I seem to remember vaguely that a proper ring flash was something missing in the Sony line-up. I'm not sure what your options are regarding third party alternatives. I hope that Barry or Greg can chime in here, as they are much more up to speed on flash stuff.

Andy - I'm not sure what exactly to look for in a ring flash so any advice from others would be welcome. I've noticed that there are some lower cost universal ring lights available. They are LED and look to be "cold" mount with an always on operation. Not sure if that's a good way to go or not.

One last bullet shot. Here's the rifling marks on one.

The 24mm 1.8 doesn't replace my Canon 100 macro but you can still use it fairly close. One should absolutely not touch this guy! He will have a super nasty sting.

Nice shot Pitter. I saw some similar caterpillars in Bolivia. I was warned very sternly not to touch them.

It's a caterpillar but I have no idea of what moth or butterfly. I found it munching on an Anthurium species which should narrow it down if I try to research it.

Heavy frost after freezing fog. I really need a larger dof but that's about all I can get and still have some sharpness.

Stacking would probably help, but as it is my tripod is not steady at this magnification. I don't think I would be able to duplicate the framing close enough to stack. But perhaps I ought to find a demo version of stacking software and give it a shot.
