Here's a couple of macro shots of a Peruvian bill. The first two are front lit while the last one is back light with a wireless flash and so you can see the markings from the other side showing through.

:) No, but it does add a different look to his face. It's the pattern from the backside of the bill showing through. The yellow band is from the back side also. The picture of the eye in photo 2 is what the bill looks like under normal lighting.
