Munnar Tea Estates (Formerly Finleys)

These are from my recent trip to India. Visited south western state of Kerala.
Munnar region has been a tea growing region since 1800s and for a long time
Finley's were the owners of these estates. Finley's later joined hands with Indian
Scions Tata Family (of Land Rover and Jaguar fame of late) and eventually the
estates have now become employee owned entities.

These are great Sury. I was hoping for some tea plantation pictures when you mentioned where you were going. The greens are really vivid and I love the rolling hills and lines of tea plants.

Hi Sury, these are really great. I especially like the first one and last one. The first is great in being almost a single colour but with a strong composition of shapes across the frame. I'm a big fan of telephoto landscape views and the third one pulls you in to that curved track and the buildings amidst the tea bushes.

What an amazing amount of tea! Almost ashamed that I'm drinking coffee as I type this

Very interesting. Thanks for posting those. Some of those photos it appears you are shooting from a rather elevated location. Were you on a higher hill or in an airplane?

I saw lots of tea plantations in Vietnam and also some in Tanzania.

Andy, I did not realize the "monochrome" aspect of the image till you mentioned it.
Need to keep in mind next time I look at photos. The learning never stops, does it?
Henry, yes I was on a hill top when I took these shots across the valley and into it.
