Again WOW! You sure have an eye. The one thing I really struggle with is figuring out what would make a great photograph. I don't think you have the same problem.

Love the desert pictures from you as well Henry. I think some parts of Spain look similar, but probably the wrong time of year at the moment. What parts are you visiting? (I'm just wondering what sort of things we can look forward to .)

It feels like I have posted a picture here for ages. I am still catching up with pictures from my February trip to the Isle of Skye. I've just got back from a further visit to Skye in April so I have quite a backlog to go through.

It was a very stormy day in February when I visited the cliffs that overlook this lighthouse. It was extremely windy and I was not sure if I would be able to get any pictures. I weighed down the tripod with may camera bag (hooray for heavy lenses!) and tried to shield the whole set-up with my body. It was great to watch the squalls of rain being blown past the headland, with the late afternoon sun breaking through the clouds. There were quite a few sea-birds in the area - I think they were starting to nest, well maybe after the storm .

Great capture of the scene Andy. To me, the big cropping in the foreground is tad distracting,
especially given the relative size. I wish the lighthouse is proportionately larger.

Sury, is it the 16:19 crop you don't like or you think it needs wider foreground view? There are some further options on composition I can be play with on my next visit.

That is a lovely view of the blue sea and an epic pier!

Thank you and no, it is not the crop that bothers me. the ridge/cliff in the foreground is dominating the photo. The lighthouse and the rest of the scene looks disproportionately small to me. I think the angle of the shot that makes the front cliff look bigger (perhaps than it actually is).

Ah - I'm with you now. Mmm. Interesting point. I think I need to be as few steps to my right, aiming more to he left, next time, and so bring out the right hand part of the point with the light house more. Thank you.

This is another abandon farm house I got last summer. It's in south Dakota not far from my brothers lake place. Actually the B&W photos I posted are the inside of this house.

Love the grass details again, and the detail of the timber on the building. Not so keen on the HDR sky here. I have found that HDR isn't so kind to my skies and so I will sometimes combine a part HDR picture (e.g the grass) with a part regular picture (e.g. for the sky) in Photoshop.

Hi Andy,

I love the shot overall. I think what's missing is the Noah's Ark to add to the dramatic scenery enhanced by the elements. The blown up sunlight is amazing behind the stout hold of the cliff rising from among the restless sea surface. If this is not the actual colours of the scene but your added sepia processing then you have done right by the photo, it's legendary. : ) I love how it turned out and I actually love the majestic cliff itself; what an odd shape that curves and bends making way to the lighthouse in the distance.

Nice one, Henry. The contrasting beauty of the lacing tree branches against the roughness of the background rock formation is a neat find.

Good scenery. Maybe a little more of the boardwalk showing on the left to complement the elongated pier in proportions would be good. I love the brightness and the vividness of the colours, especially the blue.

That's a neat shot of the isolated farm house but I think you've done something in the post processing by emphasizing the greenish tones, perhaps? Or am I wrong? The scene looks better this way...

Thank you so much Yildiz . The sky was that lovely warm colour die to the low sun at the end of a winter's day. I just tweaked up the saturation a tiny bit.
