Ah, the great CT60-4 and the drycell battery battery as well, at the time I bought my 45's I lusted after the 60 but they (and the battery) were about three times the price, so a little outside my budget. I think you're getting a wonderful deal there. (I'm not familiar with the Pathrath & Kemperer ringflash, but it sounds good)
Yes David you're quite correct about the white paper the whole thing was sitting on, I hadn't built a stand yet or flash for the underneath angle, it was more of a test too get an idea of the amount of light that the material actually transmits, I was thinking when I was rummaging at the perspex supplier that I might not have enough power, but it turned out I had an embarrasment of riches. :)
The thing that surprised me also, was how well the 24-105 performed (once again).
Greg
My apologies Yildiz for this sort-of accidental sidetrack posting...off the main topic.

Hi Greg,

I think that writing our lenses' serial numbers in the forum posts may present problems in the future. As I recall, some serial numbers were used for fraudry by lens sellers on eBay. But I can say that the number on my lens is a little less than 3,850,000 and it also has some letters before it.

Does this help any about the number of lenses sold?

Hi Yildiz,
I must be naive, I'm wondering how a S/No. helps some weasel pull a scam...I mean anyone can go to a camera store and ask too see a CZ16-80 and jot down the S/No. and use that, (or a slight variation of the No. of their own creation) so I'm not quite following that one.

Hi Greg,

I personally had the chance of seeing a couple of these happening. A fake seller, takes a photo of somebody else's camera, lens or other electronic equipment with the Serial Number visible on the item and/or the box. Then advertises/auctions the non-existent item on eBay as genuine item that he/she owns accompanied by the photos. The buyer pays the seller but the item never arrives to the person who paid for it. And after a while the seller goes scarce too and diminishes from eBay.

I read the experience of actual victims and the complaints are that eBay did nothing on this except warned against suspicious sellers who had no record of sales prior to that sale...

I read a couple of these ( three to be exact ) from different victims who paid and never got their item. Well, that's all I know...

Okey dokey I get it, the ebay weasel and the guy who owns the camera/lens/whatever, (he let be photographed) must be working in cahoots, and split the proceeds...probably.
I've never used ebay myself, and it's most unlikely I ever will...too risky I think, I'm fairly sure here inside Australia if somone does something like that you can get Visa to reverse the transaction...for a small fee, (there has to be a legitimate bank account, the vendors account, for the transaction too proceed, and the vendor's bank would have to have an egreement with Visa)....but I'm not sure about international transactions.
