The last one is the best of the lot, Ken followed by 3 and 2.

Thanks much Sury. That headstone is from a long ago relative on my mothers side. He died in 1887.

Re: Landscape 2015
Ken, Wow. That is some lineage.
I recall you referring a visit to pay respects of the dear departed in
more than one post.
I am curious to know about the (significance) of the trip.
My apologies if I am being intrusive I do not intend to be rude.
With best regards,
Sury

No problem, we went to put flowers on my parents graves. Then we moved on to do Nancy's grand parents and dads graves up in central North Dakota. We make a full day of it each year the weekend before Memorial day. This time we took the back roads to see what we could find interesting to photograph.

Ah, I get it. My understanding is that this is dedicated to War veterans.
I cringe internally when I hear someone saying "Happy Memorial Day".
In my mind it is a more solemn than jovial. But what do I know. I was
even required to take ESL when I came for my degree.

RareTA, I really like the one with building and the gray clouds.
Here's one from back in 1998 when we climbed Devil's Tower. We were part way up when I took this shot. It is, of course, a scanned negative.

Re: Landscape 2015
Thanks Sury and RareTA. It's NE Wyoming on the edge of the Black Hills. I'm actually part way up Devil's Tower on this shot.

Re: Landscape 2015
Here's an old building that's been through a storm or two. It was standing on some rocks and I'm sure that it was moved to that location from somewhere else, but it appears to not be used for anything at the moment.

Wow. Jeff. Those are some clouds. They go with the lonesome and abandoned structure.
