Unread post by david antony »

Posted a shot of this Totem Pole stood up at the museum in Lander a while back..
Caught up with it today at the Res, where it will lie and go back to the ground.

A different kind of shots DA. Thanks for the insight into a tradition, I would
not know much about, otherwise.

.

Tsawwassen is such a colourful place with authentic cultural aspects, David Antony. :)

I truly enjoy and envy the humorous or serious works of art that the local residents take time to implement/install.

So now, when you say the "Totem Pole will go back to the ground", do you actually mean this one is going under ground and is to be replaced by a new one? I guess I can't quite picture its eventual resting place and the reason.

Thanks for sharing. The photos are very nice. Always a pleasure to watch the natives during their cultural rituals and interests.

Pleased you found it of interest Sury.

Yilddiz. The museum did not replace Totem Pole,
their smaller one is still in place.

I think First Nation will move the one taken down and
place somewhere it will decade back to the earth.

Thanks for the kind comments
