Hi Arun,

Good portraits. Intricately-wrinkled and weathered facial skin and colour tones. I also like 7A, 12A and 13A in your gallery.

Hi Arun,

A very nice study of the two men. I prefer the colour versions to the B&W, but I'm not sure why - the colour ones just appeal more and seem more detailed - perhaps the poor monitor I am using at work. I've enjoyed looking at all of your photos, but this gallery is my favourite so far. Thanks for sharing.

Arun, why don't you submit this photo in the "Challenges" section? It's a very good portrait shot. :)

First of all I must thank all my friends here for appreciating my effort. While posting such galleries, I am mortally petrified by the doubt whether my posting is simply ridiculous. In such cases comments like yours is a source of immense support.

Now one by one.

Hi Dusty: The look was there to be taken. As I mentioned in my write-up on the site. Their movements were so deliberate and slow and mild and accommodating. Of course I instinctively took it.

Hello Yildiz: Nice to see you again. I modified a bit this time the gallery guided by you.

Hi Birma: Knowing that you have enjoyed my work gives me big encouragement. In many cases, we are never sure which one is better—B&W or colored. Both have different features of strength. In 1972, I used Yashica 635 and worked exclusively in B&W. At that time, during my college days at Chandigarh, I had the enlarger fixed up in my bedroom. The vinegar like smell filled up the room. My throat became soar. Then it was the exclusive B&W. Around 25 years ago I got Minolta 7000, (which is still working) and then started doing colored work. But the fascination of B&W never died in me. Perhaps, with the buying of A350 in November, 2008, that old B&W reverie is making a gradual come-back.

Nice to hear from you the interesting suggestion, Dr. Harout. I would visit Armenia one day. It seems to be so fascinating and to my liking. As I am a slow learner, almost in everything, I don’t have much idea of “Challenges” section. I would go through the details soon.

Arun, Open the main page (Board index).
Go to the second section entitled "photo discussion" and the 4th window is "Aster's photo challenge".
You have lots of shots to link there. :D

Arun;
